Annual Recital
2026 Recital Performance: Saturday, December 5, 2026.
All students registered in a class have the opportunity to participate in our annual recital to be held at the Concourse Theatre in Chatswood on Saturday, December 5th, 2026. Participation in the recital is optional, and we must be notified by June 1st, 2026 if you choose not to participate. Please note that all students must participate in the mandatory dress rehearsal (Monday, November 30th) in order to perform in the recital. There are no exceptions to this policy.
The recital offers our students a professionally directed performance that allows them to present the results of a year’s hard work, dedication, and progress to their families and friends.
A big part of dance training includes learning through performance. Although performance opportunities can help prepare some students for a possible career in dance, they also contribute to children’s success in non-dance activities. The experience helps build self-esteem and confidence, which can lead to better in-school presentations, improved social skills, and stronger skills for university and job interviews. The rehearsal process is a tremendous learning experience as well. It helps children develop retention skills, and by working with their classmates on a group performance, they learn the benefits of teamwork in achieving the best results.
Below you will find some basic information regarding our recital. More comprehensive information will be emailed out to families in early May with an option to commit to participating in the event or opting out.
If you have registered in classes AFTER June 1, 2026, your child is not eligible to participate in our 2026 recital performances.
Recital Finale
Students in the Elementary, Intermediate, Senior & Advanced Academies (School years 3 and above) will have the opportunity to participate in the recital finale routine. This routine is a large-scale production routine choreographed outside of normal class time. Participation in the finale routine requires extra rehearsals, a costume, and an extra rehearsal fee. All finale participants will receive an exclusive souvenir recital t-shirt.
We kindly ask that you opt in to the finale routine only if you can commit to attending all rehearsals on the schedule.
Recital Website Hub
We distribute a link to our recital website hub to our recital participants, which includes all the information parents and students need to make the recital experience enjoyable for all. It is imperative that you read through the entire academy page(s) for your dancer(s). Please mark important dates in your family calendars.
Costumes
We spend many hours determining the correct costumes for each class. They are always age-appropriate and of the highest quality possible. Preschool students will need one costume; all other students will need one costume for each class they train in. Costumes include all accessories (hats, gloves, etc.), but do not include shoes or tights.
To ensure costumes are delivered in time for dress rehearsals and the show, we order them between June and July. Costume manufacturers do not accept cancellations or offer refunds; therefore, the school does not refund costume fees once costumes have been ordered.
Costume fees will be included in your recital package and are yours to keep.
Recital Tickets
Tickets for the annual recital will go on sale at the Concourse Theatre box office. The performance is reserved seating, and anyone requiring a seat will need to purchase a ticket. We have no limits on how many tickets families may purchase.
